Jellyfish Eye

Posted by whisel on May 29, 2008

Greetings Friends. A situation developed over the Memorial Day weekend. Sudden onset of floaters and flashers. I’ve been to the emergency room, to the opthamologist and have an appointment with a vitreous surgeon next week. I’m hoping the assessment will not require a procedure. Think happy thoughts.

I was out with a friend for dinner on Sunday when …. poof…. my left eye become all blurry and seemingly dirty with spots and cobwebs. I couldn’t imagine what was happening. I went to the bathroom to flush my eye with water, but the vision remained the same. Everywhere I looked there was this jellyfish constellation in my line of vision. Later that evening, after accessing the internet, it was recommended to see an opthamologist as soon as possible. The next day was Memorial Day and all clinics were closed. I went to the ER, but they were no help at all. On Tuesday, I finally got to see an eye doctor.

Full Moon in Scorpio

Posted by whisel on May 20, 2008

This full Moon is an invitation to experience — not control — your own fathomless depths. And to live with more integrity, because you’ve dared to venture into your own darkness.

From out of the hidden dark, you get a glimpse of the soul’s true face this full Moon. If you’ve been stagnating and lost, here’s a chance to release what’s dead, dying or diseased. In Scorpio, we turn the eye inward, grow surly or intense…the pressure builds, and we sense that something is really, really wrong. But there’s also a knowing that the answer is not simple. This kind of change happens at the soul level, the kind that comes from facing those core fears. The word sea-change comes to mind, since Scorpio’s depths are oceanic. The risks of change are great, but so are the rewards. Considered the most potent of the year by many astrologers, it’s a portal to a total life make-over.

The Breakfast Tortie

Posted by whisel on May 17, 2008

Today was turkey quesadilla day for breakfast, or so I thought. Having coffee and a small food in front of the computer is a grand way to start my day. So as usual,  I carried  my repast into my room, set it on the side table and began the ritual of preparing for computering.  Then my daughter called and I jabbered with her for awhile, popping my vitamins between swallows of coffee and perfunctory “uh-huhs” into the phone. Turnng to my plate to grab a small bite of sustenance, I notice: no quesadilla. What ho! Where is my turkey?

There she is… skulking out the door is the resident tortie-thief with my breakfast in her mouth! I yell, I call her name, but alas, she has gone deaf! I am yodeling, my daughter is hysterical and the turkey-nabber is nowhere to be found. Eventually, my kid and I wrap up our phone call. I follow the trail of raggedy tortilla remnants into the parlor where the cat is curled into a soft snuggly circle, having ingested a tasty, protein meal. I say: Ok, you little cat-burglar! Where’s the meat? I bend my head to hers and she purrs contentedly, as if to infer: “A delicious morsel, eh? Good of you to be distracted.”

She continues her snoozing and I paddle back to my bedroom to have my coffee. In comes the second tortie, a little older, wider and slower. She sits insistently at my feet, looking up with moist eyes, inquiring: “Ya got anymore of those turkey tacos?” I pick her up, hold her, rock her and pet her. She pulls away, glares at me, shoots her tail straight up like a whip in the air and marches out of the room. She is showing me that she’s been deeply insulted and consequently, I’ll be snubbed for an hour or two. Torties have high standards and particular rules of intereaction, which I, as a fallible humon, often fail miserably to reach. And there’s no more turkey in the refrigerator. I’m in for it now.

They will forget this little interchange in awhile, though I am racked with guilt…. and will probably open up a can of tuna for lunch. I was never any good at being alpha-dominant, even with my own species. Life with cats ~ precious, funny and wonderful.

Here’s a photo of the scoundrel. She’s mostly black with a light tortie pattern and a white chin. She’s sitting in my computer chair enjoying some early morning sun. :-)

Any animal stories out there?  Best wishes….. Whisel*

Walkabout with me

Posted by dianed101 on May 12, 2008

This is so cool, just made the slide show and then I was able to load it right onto the site from there.

So I took these pics on Friday as I walked slowly around my place, so you can see the plant  abundance I am living with and share with me the wonderful feelings plants can bring..

This is how I pictured my place to be when I first moved here 2 1/2 years ago with nothing but a few plants and bare walls surrounding me.  I dreamed of my trailer being covered in vines and it’s well on it’s way now with my lovely morning glory vines now reaching the roof.

History or Myth

Posted by shirlstars on May 12, 2008

You decide!

Most  people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and  still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so  brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom  today of carrying a bouquet when getting  married.

Baths  consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the  privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the  women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was  so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, Don’t throw  the baby out with the Bath water..

Right Now

Posted by whisel on May 11, 2008

“You will never experience the earth with all its wonders in this time again. Don’t wait for one last look at the ocean, the sky, the stars, or a loved one. Go look now.” ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

.

Today I will enjoy something marvelous. I will look at the created world with eyes that see into the mystery, rather than just browse the surface. Today I will listen, smell, taste and touch something alive, growing and vulnerable. And as I speak of the Other, I speak of my Self too.

Today I will open my mind, my heart, my experience to what is real and tangible about this earth-life. Today I am here in this environment, this place full of curiosity and stimulation. I will observe the nuances. I will hear the warble in the bird song, the clack of the train. I will smell the air, the blooms, the scent of rain. I will taste the energy in fruits and vegetables. I will touch the petals of flowers, cradle the furry bodies of cats.

I will give my self to every sensation that identifies where I am and what I’m doing. I will have it all. The ocean running out of my faucet, the sky outside my window, the stars at night, loved ones in person, in email or on phone. I will have it now, today and everyday.

I am gifted with the abundance of being. I am absorbed by the Light. Could I express my Self differently as Person, I would be the one volleying the beach ball on the shore with sand between my toes and seaweed in my hair. But I have it all any where and any way…… in the wind, the clouds, the weather, in the moments of attention to the immediate, the marvelous.

ORIENTATION

Posted by whisel on May 5, 2008

Since no one knows for sure, though some may have intuition or premonition, I too, have an inkling of what it may be like on the Other Side, at least during the time right after transition. Let me share with you now, that experience as I understand it.

.

.

First is PROCESSING time. Adapting to new manifestation as essence, soul or an energy preform, as I call it. No clothes, no skin… just radiance, spiritual shimmer utilizing vibration which controls colors, degrees of substance and image of expression. Whatever familiar guise feels comfortable before mastering interBlending. It is also a means of projecting Spirit Consciousness to earthside people when visiting or assisting them.

.

There is a CONDITIONING program which includes: life’s revelation, acceptance, connection to all beloveds, spiritual performance, forgiveness, attitude of repair or change and introduction to all selves, all beginnings/endings, all understanding and origin of incarnation, purpose and cosmic unity.

.

The entity takes an INVENTORY of everything she has brought with her: loves, regrets, accomplishments, healing, unfinished business. This is all sorted out for consideration in the Gallery of Wisdom.

.

Next is RECLAMATION and RECONSTRUCTION. All aspects of the immediate earth life are examined. Each one is looked at with objectivity and compassion. Any difficulties that wish to be replayed for better outcomes are tagged for the next reincarnation. And the best is saved for last. All the beauty, joy, generosity and ease that the entity brought the world and other entities is given great acknowledgment and celebration. It is upon these good works that love builds from lifetime to lifetime. The entity is fully submerged in all this brilliance, until it emerges with confidence and enthusiasm for its next rendezvous.

.

The entity is shown REALMS OF REALITY, options for birth or appearance on Worlds or in Lifetimes of their choosing. Most will continue with the forward cadence of Life in physical or spiritual form. Some have chosen not to become substance again. A few have chosen to reincarnate in past historical times. On the Other Side all time exists at once.

.

A form of TRAINING happens next. A mastering of spiritual tools: visitation, intervention, how to guide and bless others in the Earth Realm. It is important to know how and when to intervene, if that is the Entity’s desire.

.

Then the Entity enters the GALLERY OF WISDOM where any question may be put forward and answered. Any confusion is cleared up. Plus any harms are brought to light and repairs are made. Techniques and better strategies for life are taught at this time. The entity has personal audience will all those who have helped her.

.

Finally, after the Orientation is completed, the Entity may choose the option, the destination, the experience of what happens next.

.

From this point on it seems much of a blur to me. I imagine the exponential expansion of possibilities is way too vast for my mind to consider. But for me, to believe that Transition may happen in such a profound way, is quite wonderful enough to fear-not the voyage on the horizon.

.

Many blessings for each discernment you experience of daily and infinite life. I would be happy to hear about how you understand things on the Other Side.
