Walkabout with me

Posted by dianed101 on May 12, 2008

This is so cool, just made the slide show and then I was able to load it right onto the site from there.

So I took these pics on Friday as I walked slowly around my place, so you can see the plant  abundance I am living with and share with me the wonderful feelings plants can bring..

This is how I pictured my place to be when I first moved here 2 1/2 years ago with nothing but a few plants and bare walls surrounding me.  I dreamed of my trailer being covered in vines and it’s well on it’s way now with my lovely morning glory vines now reaching the roof.

    Diane, this is wonderful!

You’ve made a lovely estate around your manor. :)
It’s perfect in every way. And such an interesting, creative landscape.
I look forward to seeing photos of foliage and blooms as they
conform to the seasons or their life cycles.

Are you partial to any particular color or types of plants?
Do you have any that are especially aromatic?
    Do you grow herbs?

I will visit this charming garden again and again.
It is certainly a labor of love. :)

Thank you so much! Best wishes, Whisel*

Hi Whisel and thanks for your appreciation. I was just outside now planting some of the new plants I got yesterday. Lobelia, allysum and cuphea.
I have some herbs, rosemary, just got a lavendar. Have tried with lavendar for years now, they do not survive well for me though they grow easily in the ground. Nearly all of my plants are of necessity in containers.
I have seedlings of tomatoes, basil and lavendar (not up yet). In another area of the yard, we are growing tomatoes, which my ex is enclosing with a frame and wire due to varmits that like to eat any fruit.
Oh and I got anaheim chilli’s and red and green pepper.
Colors I like especially are the pinks, purples, whites. Just got a white hydrangia and I have purple, white and red/yellow lantana.
The lantana are aromatic, as are the privet which are now flowering…i have another purple flower which is aromatic but can’t remember the name of it. I have failed with jasmine a number of times, so I don’t know if I’ll try it again, but I do love flowers with some aroma to them.
I adore and love my plants so much, don’t know how I could live without them.
Can’t wait till the plants enfold my entire place, in the secret garden.
I wish all could share with me, but till then these photo’s will have to do. So join me again for a walkabout, love to you whisel.

    Fabulous Diane!

This is at least 4 times more plants, flowers, vines and trees since I was there to visit a couple of years ago.

    What an Oasis!

I know you are loving it.
