(Update: I added a ratings ability to the site, check it out, it’s for the articles as well as comments.)
I’ve noticed recently from looking at the stats for this site that quite a lot of you out there are coming to this site and staying for longish periods of time. I would like to invite you to join in our conversations. Those of us who post here and author material did not know each other till we met on one blog or another, some here and through our conversations have come to know a bit about each other. We would like to know a bit about you the gentle reader as well and we would like to hear whatever thoughts or stories you may have to share.
You know we all had a first day and a first post on a blog. so start here, pop in and tell us about you.
So what’s going on with your day or life?

My life these days is mostly about taking care of my grandchild, Bentley who is a little over 2. She’s very sweet and well behaved for the most part, she is a Gemini so there is always the chance the other side of her will pop out. I often wonder what life will be like for her as a woman 20 years from now. Will things be better or worse. I sure hope better.
I was just reading an article about the women in Denmark the other day and here’s what I found:

Another item about Denmark is that it was surveyed among all countries in 2008 to have the happiest people. What were the circumstances? Danes commit almost half their salary to the Government, who in turn provides free medical care, free education and free elder care and cash rewards for various stages/accomplishments in life.
Ok, technically, it’s not free, since it’s subsidized by the population. But the monies are managed in such a supportive way, so as to free-up the people from any undue stresses or worries that impact quality of daily life. Can you imagine how happy a life like that might be?
And then there’s the USA, the only industrialized country that does not provide universal health care. Mind boggling, aint it?

It certainly is mind boggling, and even more so that a segment of the population doesn’t even think it’s needed (reform/change)even though the lack of change will no doubt effect their children, grandchildren and most in their towns. Being against ones own self interest in the hardest thing to understand.
